Position Title: Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer - Connected Vehicles (AWS/GCP)

On‑Call Requirement: Yes (approx. 4 weekday evenings/nights + 1 weekend per month)

Assignment Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer to act as a key technical owner for cloud infrastructure, observability, production reliability, and cloud cost optimization across AWS and GCP within the Connected Vehicles domain.

This role requires both strategic design and hands‑on execution. You will be accountable for delivering measurable improvements in observability, uptime, incident response, and cloud cost efficiency.

Observability

• Build and maintain full observability across infrastructure, platform, and applications
• Create architecture & data‑flow diagrams
• Define logging, metrics, and tracing standards
• Build dashboards and set up clear alerting
• Establish SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets

Cloud Cost Optimisation (FinOps)

• Build unified AWS + GCP cost dashboards
• Deliver cost‑saving plans for compute, storage, networking, and databases
• Introduce cost checks in CI/CD and budget ownership

Production Reliability

• Set up P0/P1 incident processes
• Lead RCAs and reliability improvements
• Implement canary releases, gradual rollouts, and automated rollback
• Maintain a risk register and remediation plan

Kubernetes & Multi‑Cloud

• Improve EKS/GKE stability, performance, and efficiency
• Reduce cluster incidents (OOMs, instability, network issues)

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Platform Engineering
• 3+ years in a Staff, Principal, or Technical Lead role
• Proven experience running large‑scale distributed production systems
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS and GCP
• Ability to design and manage cross‑cloud architectures
• Strong proficiency with IaC tools: Terraform, Pulumi, CDK
• Experience building observability systems from the ground up
• Hands‑on expertise with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK, Kibana, and OpenTelemetry
• Expert knowledge of Kubernetes internals (Scheduler, Controllers, CNI, CRI)
• Experience operating large-scale production clusters
• Strong skills in Java, Python, or Go

• eBPF & performance profiling
• Open‑source contributions
• Multi-cloud disaster recovery design (Active‑Active or Active‑Passive)
• Mandarin fluency or professional proficiency (advantage for collaboration with China‑based teams)
