Our commitment to developing the next generation of automotive designers and engineers is reflected in our long-standing collaboration with Coventry University. As one of the UK’s leading Transport Design courses, the programme has worked closely with Contechs to give students valuable industry exposure and real-world design challenges.
This year’s second-year project, held in collaboration with Autodesk, tasked students with designing a beautifully crafted, intelligent mobility solution for premium customers.
Over the 12-week programme, Contechs’ Studio Director Marc Brumpton and Autodesk’s Design Studio Solution Specialist Pierre-Paul Andriani offered hands-on guidance as students developed their ideas. At the final presentation, four teams showcased their concepts to Marc, Pierre, and Assistant Professor James Ayre.
Team 1 – Tom Horton, Daniel Collett, Arash Geramian, and Emre Akyol – created Patagonia Frontier, a premium adventure EV for customers seeking outdoor, adrenaline-fuelled experiences. It aligned strongly with the Patagonia brand and offered a unique vision for off-grid mobility.

Team 2 – Kar Wai Wong, Timothy Britton, and Ethan Lad – developed Trailmate, a Timberland-inspired urban logistics EV. The concept featured a modular interior and intelligent loading system, blending sustainability with function.

Team 3 – Tingan Zhou, Isaac So, and Ji Hong – targeted the performance car segment with a 2032 luxury four-door electric coupé, inspired by Ferrari. Their design balanced excitement, brand prestige, and daily usability in a bold exterior.

Team 4 – Robyn Ham, Joshua Roberts, Oliver Greenyer, Namra Ghodasara, and Younghun Jeong – presented Bold, Breakthrough, and Beautiful. Inspired by Oakley, Bold offered immersive exploration through its panoramic cockpit, as well as a social space thanks to its modular seating design. Breakthrough took the form of a single-seat roadster, taking design direction from fashion brand Acronym and engineered for both track and street. Beautiful completed the dynamic trio, exploring feminine design with fashion-forward CMF choices and sculptural bodywork, inspired by designer brand Dior.

The diverse solutions — from modular EVs to luxury coupés — showcased the students' creativity and ability to tackle premium mobility challenges. With mentorship from Marc, Pierre, and James, they demonstrated clear growth in branding, design thinking, and execution.
This project continues our close partnership with Coventry University and reflects Contechs’ ongoing commitment to inspiring talent in automotive design and engineering.
