Tesla to introduce humanoid robots to factories from 2025

posted 11 months ago

Elon Musk has confirmed that Tesla is planning to implement over 1,000 humanoid robots to its factories in 2025, as part of its Optimus programme.

Tesla has invested into the research and development of humanoid robot technology, with the CEO stating that it will add tens of trillions of dollars to the company’s valuation in the future.

The concept of humanoid robots has been around for decades; however, its real-world application is now becoming a reality, with Tesla announcing that it has two Optimus robots already working autonomously in its factory. The potential future time savings and technical ability of humanoid robots in automotive vehicle manufacturing is still unknown, but it is an exciting possibility that other OEMs across the world may look to explore in the coming years.

Contechs currently supports several OEM clients to develop innovative vehicle technologies, from leading EV engineering solutions to connected car technologies and more.
