Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is set to base its future electric vehicles (EVs) on platforms from Chinese carmaker Chery. Extending a long partnership with Chery Group, Tata Motors-owned JLR will use two Exeed platforms for its future EV models.
The two brands have been in partnership since 2012 and have been co-producing vehicles ever since. They even share a manufacturing facility in China that has manufactured cars for over a decade.
JLR joins a long list of western OEMs which utilise Chinese carmakers for their next-generation EV platforms, such as Volvo, Polestar and Lotus, to name a few.
As the automotive industry transitions to electric vehicles and connected services, Contechs has the engineering expertise to support OEMs as they design and engineer the next generation of vehicles.
