Position Title: Powertrain Tooling Engineer

Duration: 12 Month Rolling Contract

Location: Dunton, Essex

Division: Manufacturing Engineering

Position Description:

  • Powertrain Tooling Engineer Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) is a key contributing organisation within the Clients' business as they transition from their historical product line-up of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) only, to a strong Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) powertrain offering.
  • This position arises at an enthralling time as PTME Europe are at the forefront of the transformation of the Clients' manufacturing facilities across Europe from ICE to BEV.
  • You would be a key member of the PTME family, helping us to modernise the business as they Bring on Tomorrow within manufacturing the new range of electrified powertrains for vehicles.
  • Your role within the team would involve you collaborating with the Clients' partners, including Product development, Purchasing and Manufacturing Plants.
  • The Client needs you to share your transferable skills, knowledge, and experience within the team as you: Employ your knowledge of manufacturing systems to engineer and optimise tooling solutions and machining processes in collaboration with the wider team
  • Deploy and install flexible, agile, cost-effective tool setting facilities across European powertrain manufacturing systems
  • Immerse yourself within the dynamic and flexible team as you contribute to the can do attitude the team has as they work in a fast-changing environment
  • Create manufacturing feasibility, cost estimates and best practice input to shape the future powertrain solutions
  • Support the continuous improvement of tooling solutions and the introduction of new technologies globally

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of high-volume automotive tooling and machining is required

Skills Preferred:

  • Knowledge of tool management software systems preferred.
  • Knowledge & experience of measuring systems and Statistical Process Control (SPC) software preferred

Experience Required:

  • 2 years in high volume Manufacturing role

Experience Preferred:

  • 5 years in high volume Manufacturing role

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ year's industry experience without Degree.
