I am currently recruiting on behalf of a commercial OEM, based in Gothenburg, who are seeking a Performance & Calibration Engineer to join their team. Sustainability including climate change are the challenges of our generation. Our contribution is to offer leading transport and infrastructure solutions enabling societies to prosper in a sustainable way. Fossil free fuels and electrification are key enablers for carbon neutral road transport and other heavy-duty operations. Using green hydrogen or renewable fuel engines is one important part of the solution and a key complement to battery electric vehicles as well as fuel-cell based propulsion.
Job Description
We're looking for an onsite engineer in Gothenburg, with possibility to travel to Eskilstuna and/or Karlsruhe in Germany from time to time.

As a Senior Calibration Engineer H2 ICE, you drive results pro-actively, collaborate seamlessly, build trust easily, blossom in continuous learning, and act with a strong team player mindset. You can solve practical problems with a hands-on attitude with your knowledge from Control Systems and Calibration. Your responsibilities could be, but are not limited to:
* Calibration of spark-ignited internal combustion engine control units (ECU, ECM)
* Optimization of spark ignited engine functions and controls (Performance, Emissions, Fuel consumption, Diagnostics, or Drivability)
* Planning, execution and evaluation of stationary and dynamic calibration in engine test benches and vehicles
* Optimization and testing both in test bench as well as in vehicle
* Data analysis, preparation of reports and presentation of results
* Build engine models, optimization calibration data based on screening data
- Liaison and reporting to various functions within the organization
- Technical supervision and mentoring of non-experienced engineers
- Software and calibration data management with established data handling tools
- Ensuring a proper handover of all results and knowledge at end of assignment
Qualifications / Skills needed
- Scientific degree, a B.Sc., M.Sc. or PhD, in an engineering area such as Mechatronics, Computer Science, Automation, Electronics, Mechanics, or in Applied Physics
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with spark-ignited engine calibration
- Broad knowledge in combustion engines, fuel injection systems and EATS systems
- Knowledge of knock detection and control, engine sensors, and actuators
- Profound expertise in ATI Vision or ETAS INCA, ETAS ASCMO, Matlab/Simulink, in AVL Concerto, and in CRETA
- Self-driven; you think in solutions and have the energy to make things happen. Your energizing attitude sparks also your co-workers
- Fluent in spoken and written English
Meritorious requirements:
- You have experience in Powertrain SW development toolchain, especially engine control, or similar experience
- You are an expert in at least 2 of the following areas: embedded software design & architecture, functional safety and testing, SIL or HIL, test bench data analysis and automation as calibrator or function developer, control theory and signal processing, diagnostics and dependability, or drivability
- Knowledge in Targetlink, C/C++, and Python3
- Expertise in automotive communication protocols, such as Ethernet, ISO, CAN, LIN
- You own C/C1/CE driver licences and T1/T2/T3 driver trainings
