Showcasing next-generation “sketch-to-surface” capability powered by AI, VR and proprietary IP
Contechs has been nominated for AI Tech Innovation of the Year at the Insider Awards, recognising its pioneering approach to accelerating early-stage vehicle development through advanced technology, specialist design capability, and proprietary IP.
The nomination centres on the Contechs Blade™ Concept, which demonstrates a fully integrated “sketch-to-surface” methodology, combining the Contechs Sketch process with generative AI, real-time VR environments, and advanced digital engineering tools. This enables simultaneous design, validation, and optimisation, rapidly progressing concepts into engineering-feasible, production-ready surfaces.
By synchronising highly skilled designers with AI-driven capability, Contechs embeds manufacturability, feasibility, and quality from the earliest stages. This reduces development cycles, improves precision, and significantly de-risks programmes for global automotive clients.
Pete Jarvis, Group CEO at Contechs, said: "The Blade™ Concept represents a step change in how vehicle design is conceived and delivered. By integrating our proprietary Sketch process with AI, VR and advanced digital engineering, we’re enabling true concurrent development from concept through to feasibility. This allows us to accelerate timelines, improve quality, and give our clients greater confidence earlier in the programme.“
The Blade™ Concept highlights how Contechs’ IP-led approach, combining advanced processes, scalable SaaS-enabled workflows, and virtual engineering capability, enables data-driven decision-making and seamless progression from concept to production intent.
He added: "What differentiates Contechs is the integration of technology with deep engineering expertise. Our approach ensures AI is not used in isolation, but as part of a controlled, data-driven ecosystem which is guided by experienced designers to deliver technically credible, production-ready outcomes.“
The Insider Awards celebrate excellence in manufacturing and engineering innovation, with winners announced on 23rd April.
