Subject Matter Expert - Vehicle Homologation & Emissions

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden

The Role

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Vehicle Homologation with a focus on Emissions to strengthen our Vehicle Homologation team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance and securing vehicle approvals for markets outside China, primarily within the EU and US.

Description of the Assignment

• Act as a subject matter expert in automotive legal requirements and homologation, with focus on emissions
• Prepare and manage regulatory documentation, worst-case analyses, applications, and certification testing
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise homologation and certification activities to obtain component, system, WVTA and/or national vehicle approvals
• Serve as the main contact with authorities, technical services, and relevant organizations
• Monitor regulatory updates and communicate changes clearly within the organization
• Collaborate closely with other SMEs and contribute to knowledge sharing and capability development within the team

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in homologation and certification within a global automotive OEM
• Proven experience in preparing and submitting applications to authorities
• Solid hands-on experience in EU emissions certification, including at least two completed full certification projects
• Ability to act as mentor/trainer within the emissions area
• Strong knowledge of vehicle regulations and compliance requirements for EU and US markets
