I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive Manufacturer based in Surrey who are seeking a Powertrain Senior Design Engineer to join their team.

Job Description

As Powertrain Senior Design Engineer your main responsibilities are:

• Reporting to the Lead Principal Engineer and working with the Technical Program Manager on engine programs.
• Working alongside Project Engineers in a small team, to be responsible for the delivery of engine systems and components into small volume high performance specialist vehicle programs.
• Working with suppliers to ensure components and systems meet technical and package targets and to deliver detailed designs on time to predetermined quality, cost and weight targets and within DFM requirements.
• Work with the other designers, lead engineers and the component supplier to achieve efficient, innovative and lightweight designs.
• Support powertrain component & vehicle development activities, manufacture and launch planning

Qualifications / Skills required

• CATIA V5 / V6 2D/3D skills with GD&T application experience.
• A high level of technical knowledge & experience of Powertrain component & system design, packaging, engine test & production.
• Educated to degree level in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• Adopts a creative & thoughtful approach to concept design and solving engineering problems with good attention to detail.
• Excellent feasibility assessment skills including design for manufacture
