The Role
We are looking for a System Engineer to strengthen our team within advanced motion control and energy management. In this role, you will work with the development and evaluation of new concepts and functions for next-generation vehicles - from early concept and simulation to validation in real test vehicles.
You will combine system thinking with hands-on control development, working closely with software, hardware, test and product teams in an international R&D environment.
Description of the Assignment
- Develop and evaluate new concepts and functions within advanced motion control and energy management
- Perform competitor vehicle benchmarking and feature analysis
- Design and implement control algorithms and software prototypes using Matlab/Simulink, Python and/or C/C++
- Validate functions in simulation environments such as CarMaker or CarSim
- Support testing and validation in vehicles, including measurement, data analysis and subjective evaluation
- Contribute from idea and concept through to validated proof-of-concept
Requirements
- Master's degree in Control Systems, Vehicle Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 2-5+ years of relevant experience from the automotive industry, preferably within motion control or vehicle dynamics
- Proven experience in developing control software for motion control functions
- Strong programming skills in Matlab/Simulink, Python, and C/C++
- Experience with vehicle simulation tools such as CarMaker, CarSim, or similar
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer and Vector CAN/LIN/FlexRay devices
- Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics (longitudinal and lateral) and key vehicle subsystems (chassis, powertrain, brakes, propulsion)
- Strong background in control systems and optimization methods (e.g. Kalman filters, MPC)
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. SystemWeaver, Polarion) and configuration management (e.g. Git)
- Experience with HiL testing platforms (e.g. Vector, dSPACE)
- Knowledge of in-vehicle communication protocols such as CAN and FlexRay
- Basic understanding of Classic/Adaptive AUTOSAR and Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
- Valid driver's license (B) and experience in vehicle testing
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Who You Are
- Analytical and solution-oriented, able to translate system and customer needs into technical solutions
- Structured, self-driven and comfortable taking ownership from idea to validation
- Collaborative and communicative, enjoying cross-functional teamwork
- Able to explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Curious, innovative and eager to explore new control concepts and technologies
- Comfortable working in an international environment with multiple parallel tasks
What We Offer
- A key role in developing control systems for premium electric vehicles
- An innovative and collaborative R&D environment
