Position: CFD Engineer

Location: Hybrid from Crewe, Cheshire

Position Type: Contract

Outside IR35

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a client who are a British manufacturer of luxury cars and SUVs, known for its high performance and handcrafted quality. They are looking for a CFD Engineer to join their team on a long term rolling contract basis

35 hours per week

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform 3D CFD simulations to support development of the vehicle thermal management system and component thermal durability for BEV, PHEV and ICE powertrains.
• Inform relevant system owners of the results of these simulations and the implications for their systems and components.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous industry experience in either vehicle aerodynamics or vehicle thermal management
• Previous experience with building and running CFD models
• Previous systems engineering experience desirable
• Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility

Practical & Technical Knowledge:

• Experienced user of PowerFLOW, PowerTHERM and PowerCOOL
• Pre-processing of CAD, mesh and non-geometric data to produce PowerFLOW and PowerTHERM models

Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Associate membership of a relevant professional intuition preferable
