Job description

Role: Module Design & Release Engineer

Duration: 12 Month Rolling Contract

Location: Essex

Work Type: Onsite

Position Description:

  • Bluetooth low energy and NFC module D&R
  • Work cross functionally to lead vehicle level functional, package, process and technical BUN ingress egress functional issues to resolution
  • Understand working level component and system functionality of BUN, Anchors and associated modules
  • Lead team in developing and reviewing work plans to deliver globally aligned components to commercial vehicle programs per component and system specifications for infotainment, navigation and new connectivity technologies (Ultra wide band, Nearfield communication, Phone as key etc..)
  • Lead management level report out of project status and results including recommendations for alignment on BUN/Anchor technical issues
  • Lead teams on IVI-C functional issue triage and rectification of ingress egress issues
  • Engage with core and cross carline teams to ensure aligned approach as required to software delivery into commercial vehicle program timeline and functionality following software release and signoff processes

Skills Required:

  • Lead rollout plan for connectivity and new feature delivery
  • Lead engineering signoff and delivery issues for BUN and Anchor components
  • Application of given priorities regarding function, quality, cost, weight and timing in close collaboration with North American and Merkenich core teams
  • Contribute to design reviews (definition of goals, identification of construction alternatives/decision criteria) and launch teams (tracking regarding time and quality)
  • Lead trade off studies for most suitable business solution for the companies CV BUN and Anchor implementation
  • Confirmation that the design meets customer requirements, e.g. function, design, ergonomics and complies with legal and safety requirements
  • Lead coordination of system specifications with pre-development regarding regional requirements as well as function owners within the area of connectivity and navigation
  • Lead analysis of test results considering specifications of adjacent departments
  • Lead vehicle level test plans and signoff per global component requirement to GPDS timeline
  • Produce and review vehicle specific program documentation for cross carline components supporting program GPDS deliverables
  • Liaise with cloud operations team to facilitate agile robust implementation of on board content to support latest off board features
  • Lead vehicle launch activities to meet program requirements (PPAP plans, AIMS resolution, part supply) for BUN and Anchors
  • Competent using office applications such as excel, outlook, project and word Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to demonstrate use of initiative, perseverance and liaison skills

Skills Preferred:

  • Client tools and process experience

Experience Required:

  • Must have experience of using Product Development processes
  • Must have experience of working on electrical or electronic systems
  • Must have CAN tool experience

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience of using FEDE, WERS is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Transit vehicle Electrical Systems and Components is an advantage
  • Ethernet tool experience is preferred

Education Required:

  • Engineering Degree

Additional Information:

  • Must have Full UK driving licence.
  • This position may require occasional traveling to Supplier, the Clients' development or Vehicle launch sites
  • Travel: As required for counterpart work in Germany/USA and potential launch activity in USA
  • Location: Must be available to Dunton 5 days a week
