Position Title: Vehicle Dynamics Rigs Engineer

Duration: 12 Month Rolling Contract

Location: Gaydon

Division: Engineering Operations

Position Description:

• As a Vehicle Dynamics Rigs Engineer you will be responsible for preparation, testing and reporting of the Dynamic Rolling Road Rig and the Kinematics and Compliance Rig.
• The rigs test vehicles with instrumentation which measure the reactivity of on road behaviours to the assess steering and suspension performance.

Skills Required:

• Must have awareness of risk assessments for health and safety requirements.
• Must have understanding of rig/vehicle based data acquisition.
• Must have worked within a rig/vehicle test environment.

Experience Required:

• Relevant degree or equivalent specific operational experience.
• Significant rig-based test and evaluation techniques.
• Sufficient mechanical understanding of vehicle chassis and steering systems and their integration to vehicle systems.
• Good understanding of laboratory equipment capability and flexibility.
• Experience in mentoring/teaching degree apprentices and junior engineers.
