Subject Matter Expert OTA & SUMS

The Role

The Vehicle Homologation team at with this global OEM plays a key role in ensuring product compliance and vehicle homologation for global markets outside China. Our mission is to secure compliance with applicable regulations, maintain required certifications, and support development programs across multiple brands.

We are now looking for an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in automotive legal requirements and homologation to support our Over-the-Air (OTA) update programs.

Description of the Assignment

• Act as a legal requirements and homologation expert for OTA updates, assessing changes and advising Homologation Leads on required updates to Statements of Technical Assessment (STAs)
• Collaborate closely with colleagues responsible for SUMS and RXWIN systems, ensuring continuous compliance with UNECE R156
• Serve as a key contact point towards authorities and regulatory organizations
• Act as an internal expert on legal requirements throughout the vehicle development process
• Continuously monitor updates in regulations and ensure timely communication of changes within the organization
• Work closely with existing SMEs to strengthen team competence and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• Approximately 5 years of experience in vehicle homologation and certification within a global automotive OEM
• Proven experience in writing and submitting applications to authorities
• Strong hands-on experience with UNECE R156 (EU), with the ability to act as a mentor or trainer
• Excellent knowledge of vehicle regulations and compliance for EU and US markets
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
