Job description

Position Title: Senior BIW Engineer (Manufacturing Engineer)

Duration: Permanent

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose

  • This position is responsible for Planning and Setup of Process facility of Body Shop (Underbody) which
  • includes following steps.
  • Conceptualize, Process, Design, Feasibility, Estimate, create Layouts as per project inputs.
  • Prepare clear, precise, visually graspable, cost effective RFQ for bidders

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Initiate and make technical Evaluation of Supplier in the Purchasing process.
  • Conduct design review by co coordinating with all stake holders (R&D, Quality, Logistics, Operations, finance, Procurement etc)
  • Co-ordinate internal stakeholders with the Line builders for effective project execution involving Installation, commissioning, Prove out
  • Ensure delivery of Product from the line as per Project timeline
  • Handover lines to Production team in SOP condition resolving the open points.
  • Continue in taking part innovative new technology implementation and critical production (capacity enhancement) issue resolution
  • Co-ordinate internal stakeholders with the Line builders for effective project execution involving Installation, commissioning, Proving.
  • Continue in taking part innovative new technology implementation and critical production (capacity enhancement) issue resolution.

Authority

  • Control & Direct Line builder/Partners
  • Decide minor deviations to Project Schedules in the areas handled.
  • Decision on payments of supplier as per purchasing terms and output and go by rulebook in case of non-compliance in fulfilment of deliverables.
  • Share product data in compliance with Confidentiality agreement
  • Influence on Product regarding Design for Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Project Evaluation and preplanning work:

  • Evaluate the new model facility investment requirement according to Strategy and state of the Art modern facility with Maximum Efficiency and automation.
  • Recommend product design changes at each stage to make it feasible for manufacturing point of view (DFM - Gun accessibility, build sequence, investment & cost)
  • Create RFQ (Project Specification Book) and annexures that cover every detail of respective lines including Equipment list consolidation.
  • Coordinate each DAP & VTTO for new tooling and equipment with all stake holders.
  • Take part and provide consistent and uniform communication across all suppliers and make sure all the technical points are captured in their commercial offer.

Installation & Commissioning:

  • Prepare project activities including works scheduling with Line Builder
  • Ensure timely completion without any cost and time overrun.
  • Conduct daily shop floor meeting with all stakeholders (Civil, Utility, Suppliers, Logistics, Production, Maintenance and Quality) Validate activity at each work element.
  • Ensure no stoppage in the schedules affecting Program plan
  • Ensure safety rules adherence, permit adherence.

Pre-Series Trail Prodn BIW plan & Training:

  • Plan and organize resource for trails and Pre-series milestones.
  • Assure no delays & lack of performance from Equipment, Facility and Process side.
  • Ensure line Qualification for all the test like Ghost Run, Misuse test, Assure Cycle time in all the stations.
  • Conduct appropriate training for production and maintenance team members. Create on job exposure to the new lines and processes.

Project Handover & Closure:

  • Create the snag list and ensure closure of all the concerns from stakeholders
  • Asset capitalization and time to time invoicing of materials and services with control documentation.
  • Create GRNs and track and support payment Process

Education:

  • Diploma/ Graduates /Master graduates

Skills & Competencies:

  • Green Field development of Body Shop experience, Budget Estimation, Process planning & Layout design.
  • Knowledge of Steel & Aluminium Welding (SPR, FDS, Spot, Stud, MIG/CMT, Gluing, Hemming, Laser welding etc.)
  • Body Product Evaluation, Process and Manufacturability Study, General Product development stages (DFM)
  • Knowledge on Auto-Rack system & Loading concepts
  • Highly experienced in developing and delivering respective Body Shop lines for new models

Software Skills:

  • AutoCAD, Siemens NX, Catia (Hands-on is Must)
  • Process simulate (Desirable)

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ Years for Graduates / 15+ Years for Diploma / 10+ years for Master graduate
