Position Title: Powertrain Engineer
Duration: 10 Month Rolling Contract
Location: Whitley
Division: Product Engineering
Position Description:
- The position resides within Powertrain Local Product Engineering (LPE) function providing engineering technical excellence and issue resolution support to the UK / EU regions and central powertrain engineering.
- As part of global LPE the engineer will liaise with the Local UK/EU technical helpline providing Engineering level technical support in the resolution of customers issues managed through the Clients' global concern management system and they will also act as a conduit between regions and the central engineering function in the early identification and rectification of systemic quality concerns.
- This position is technical and fast paced providing the highest quality of service to our connected functions and helping to improve the customer experience and the Clients' quality metrics.
Skills Required:
- An engineering level comprehensive understanding of traditional powertrain hardware and software control systems.
- Demonstrable experience in resolving technically challenging powertrain issues including the application of quality toolsets such as 8D and Six sigma processes.
- Experience of working in a fast paced and technical position demonstrating excellent team work and inter personal skills.
Experience Required:
- Degree qualified in an engineering discipline (automotive, mechanical, electrical, software controls etc).
- Exceptions would be made for the right candidate with comprehensive and demonstrable experience within a technical role.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience within an automotive engineering team or customer facing technical helpdesk would be beneficial
- Calibration and controls experience is also beneficial when supported with the key essential skills.
- Ability to work across the whole powertrain system in terms of interacting with functional SME's is desirable.
