Position Title: Material Planner

Duration: Contract

Location: Solihull

• Your focus will be to purchase and expedite the delivery of materials to meet production requirements and assist with maintaining and updating the Master Production Schedule.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for the procurement of materials using Bill of material, MRP and purchase order requisitions for parts
• Communicate purchase orders effectively to suppliers
• Report daily on constraints likely to affect production
• Maintain daily the online Shortages Portal with updates on expected dates for late parts
• To assist in the management of the engineering change process, with regard to analysing existing stock
• To understand the workings of and maintain the Master Production Schedule for the business
• Monitor stock levels and minimize overstocking
• Ensure all purchase orders are placed correctly for current production build

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• Materials Management / material planner/ scheduler/ planner experience
• Proven, relevant experience scheduling high volumes of material to meet production demands
• Computer Literate with experience of spreadsheets and databases.
• Experience in use of MRP systems
• Suitable experience in scheduling to a build programme
• Good communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrable numerical and analytical skills
• Skilled at process improvements
• Skilled in customer management
