Position Title: IT Support Engineer

The Role

• The position will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up and support to the Lead Infrastructure Engineer.
• The post holder is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems, Azure, O365 and Microsoft Exchange environment plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software.
• The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities within Contechs Consulting Ltd, co-located across multiple sites, one based in Warwick and the others in Basildon, Munich and Koln.

Key Accountabilities

• Review systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, integration of multiple systems and technology and that 'Secure by Design' principles have been followed.
• Support IT department in the implementation, administration and support of infrastructure solutions and services.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities including compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software and cloud.
• Identify the correct procedures and appropriate channels for resolution and monitor resolution activities and progress updates to users.
• Support and administration of:
• Virtualisation (Hyper-V, NAS, SAN's)
• Network (LAN, WAN, WLAN)
• Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services
• Azure
• O365
• DNS, DHCP
• CCTV
• Active Directory Certificate Authority (AD CS)
• Microsoft Deployment Tools (MDT)
• Support all Infrastructure Strategies, implementations and training
• Development of on-going IT strategies to support the demands of the business
• Information Security Maintains the security, confidentiality and integrity of information systems
• General IT Administration across all systems
• Producing Technical Documents
• System Backups
• Problem Solving
• Administering, supporting remote clients

• Technical competence in the following areas:
• Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services
• Azure Active Directory Connect
• Azure WVD
• Azure Files
• DNS, DHCP, PowerShell
• Firewalls, Routers and Switches (TCP / IP, Wi-Fi, VLANS, WLAN, VPLS, MPLS)
• Virtualisation platform (Hyper-V)
• Windows Server 2012r2/2016/SBS/2019
• SAN Technologies (Synology, Dell EqualLogic)
• Windows Client, 10 onwards
• Microsoft Exchange 2013, Office 365
• VOIP Telephone Systems (8X8)
• Experience of firewalls,
• Backup Solutions (Acronis)
• Knowledge of CAD Software an advantage

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 years IT Infrastructure support in a similar sized Company
• Must Have a UK driving license
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work offsite on client locations
• Familiar with operating Technical Help Desk
