Position Title: HV System Integration Engineer

Duration: 4 Months Rolling Contract

Location: Gaydon

Division: Engineering Operations

Position Description:

  • HV System Integration Engineer
  • This role will be within the Facility and Technology Development Team at our Client.
  • Working closely with the development team and facility owners to provide High Voltage Integration expertise & support with new Test Facility specification and commissioning.
  • The role will see the associate responsible for the broad development of systems across test facilities.
  • This will range from project initialisation/specification all the way through to commissioning.
  • Additionally, the role will involve the reactive support of all Engineering Labs and their facilities, providing control knowledge and problem solving to support breakdowns.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of vehicle HV platforms. 60volts plus.
  • Experience of HV rig system commissioning, including all infrastructure considerations.
  • Ability to interpret and implement electrical system drawings. Visio, ePlan

Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of safety systems and PLC (Pilz, Wieland, Bender).
  • Ability to construct timing plans, schedule work tasks and manage team activities to completion.
  • Knowledge of vehicle & test communications technology Flexray, CAN, LIN, SCRAMNet, EtherCAT.
  • Must be self-motivated, keen to take on responsibility & able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to coach and develop engineers where required.
  • Friendly, flexible person with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work theoretically and practically with people in different teams, at all levels of the business.

Experience Preferred:

  • Experienced with Vector Tools CANalyzer and CANoe (CANape also of benefit).
  • Scripting languages Python, MAT-Script, Visual Basic (CAPL Essential).
  • Applied hands-on experience of Hardware-In-the-Loop solutions with working knowledge of: D-SPACE Systems (Including SCALEXIO), Restbus Simulation, Mathworks, MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Activation of ECMs for use on test set-ups & rigs.
  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline.
  • Experience operating and working in a HV technically capable team.
  • Experience of using Jira.
