Position: Exterior Trim Engineer
Location: Newark, California USA

45 hours per week, 5 days on site in California

I am recruiting on behalf of an American luxury electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer known for pushing the boundaries of efficiency, performance, and design. They are looking for a Exterior Trim Engineer to join them on a rolling contract basis.
Job Description
- This position requires a responsibility for designing and developing parts of the exterior systems of a world class vehicle in terms of both styling and function.
- Lead or play a leading role in the packaging, engineering design, release and launch of exterior trims of a state-of-the-art car
- Create cutting edge exterior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in vehicle exterior trim design & development.
- Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6
- Experience can include: Side valences, Sill trims, Underbody aero shields, Wheelhouse liners Spoilers / Appliques, "Frunk" / "Froot", Rocker panels
- Proven experience with thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies (including painting)
- Launch experience
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
