Position Title: Exterior Lighting Project Interface

Duration: Contract Hybrid - On site as & when, some weeks could be 5 days onsite.

Location: Crewe, Cheshire

*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.*

MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  • The Exterior Lighting Project Interface has responsibility for end to end Project Management on Internal, External Outsourced for one or more of the Lighting Projects.
  • The role has to define, control and ensure the delivery of all R&D Lighting project milestones, be the interface between the Clients' Cross Function, Lighting Dept, Outsource Suppliers and SET Leaders

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget:

  • Ensure successful delivery projects to allocated budgets.
  • Engauge with Lighting FM and G1, G2, G3 SET Leads on Budget Control

Releases:

  • Work within Lighting Function to control required functionality for integration into the vehicle project.
  • Plan integration points of the level 3 system within the PEP in collaboration with the Integration Manager / Lighting FM, Lighting Vex and Lighting Engineers
  • Ensure outsource supplier release using the correct Client systems on time.

Project Steering:

  • Control required technical content to achieve agreed specifications.
  • Presentation of Technical topics to drive decisions internally to support outsourced partners
  • Report the defined PEP & Lighting Timing requirements and lead the risk and countermeasures associated with these.
  • Lead technical resolution with SET Ldrs where conflicts exist across the systems, design and function.
  • Ensure suppliers alignment of the resources (people & budget) required to deliver projects

Development & further:

  • Ensure the Outsource Suppliers creates, controls effective timing plans for the projects delivery
  • Ensure the Outsource suppliers creates effective (V&V) test plans in accordance with Client requirements
  • Ensures Homologation controls and internal whole vehicle releases
  • Ensures the Outsource suppliers deliver as the Clients' PEP Milestones.
  • Manages conflict resolution between the Client and Outsource supplier.
  • Ensures the Outsource supplier is supported to ensure the Clients' processes are understood and implemented.
  • Works with Lighting FM and G1, G2, G3 SET Leads to implement Design and Cost changes.

Obligation to contribute:

  • Support budget planning with Head of Departments & FM of functional area.
  • Monitor R&D performance of necessary activities for B-, K- and BMG/ HW/ SW/ Function-Releases.
  • Interface internally /externally in a professional & respectful manner

KEY COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of successful deliveries of Lighting Project Management
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in an automotive engineering environment and design.
  • Broad ability to influence people at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead a team through problem resolution activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel world wide
  • Full Clean driving UK Driving Licence

Practical & Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Engineering and Project Management principles and processes working on relevant systems.
  • Significant and advanced knowledge of requirements management.
  • Experience of successful delivery of vehicle systems/ features to functional, cost, quality and timing targets (with R&D focus).
  • Broad knowledge of multiple Engineering systems and their relationships.
  • Has the strong ability to challenge from first principles.
  • Extensive experience of systems engineering.

Qualifications

  • Higher Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer desirable.
  • German language desirable.
