Position Title: Controls Engineer

Location: Coventry
- Our Client is currently seeking a Controls Engineer based in Coventry.
- The role requires working with other team members and the customer to deliver controls and powertrain engineering projects according to the plan.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support process for powertrain control requirements development.
- Design, simulate, implement, debug, test and research control and estimation algorithms for various electrical, mechanical, and thermal systems in powertrain systems.
- Engage with suppliers and other stake holders to review hardware and software attributes.
- Develop the Software and Controls for the electrified powertrain.
Your Profile:
Essential:
- Engineering/Science Degree (or equivalent).
- Automotive engineering knowledge/experience in design and validation for electrified powertrain systems.
- Experience of automotive control systems software development, data logging and calibration tools.
- Proficient in MS office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness and ability to interface constructively with a global team.
- Driving license valid for driving in the UK.
Preferable:
- Experience in electrified powertrain area.
- Knowledge in machine learning, AI algorithms and predictive control systems.
- A working knowledge of vehicle architectures, communication protocols CANFD, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet.
- Awareness of ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
- Experience with Vector (e.g., CANalyzer, CANape) and Mathworks tools (e.g. MatLab/Simulink) or equivalent.
- Ability to work in an Agile work environment.
- Project Management.
