Position Title: Controls Engineer

Duration: Permanent

Location: Coventry

  • Our Client is currently seeking a Controls Engineer based in Coventry.
  • The role requires working with other team members and the customer to deliver controls and powertrain engineering projects according to the plan.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support process for powertrain control requirements development.
  • Design, simulate, implement, debug, test and research control and estimation algorithms for various electrical, mechanical, and thermal systems in powertrain systems.
  • Engage with suppliers and other stake holders to review hardware and software attributes.
  • Develop the Software and Controls for the electrified powertrain.

Your Profile:

Essential:

  • Engineering/Science Degree (or equivalent).
  • Automotive engineering knowledge/experience in design and validation for electrified powertrain systems.
  • Experience of automotive control systems software development, data logging and calibration tools.
  • Proficient in MS office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to interface constructively with a global team.
  • Driving license valid for driving in the UK.

Preferable:

  • Experience in electrified powertrain area.
  • Knowledge in machine learning, AI algorithms and predictive control systems.
  • A working knowledge of vehicle architectures, communication protocols CANFD, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Awareness of ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
  • Experience with Vector (e.g., CANalyzer, CANape) and Mathworks tools (e.g. MatLab/Simulink) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in an Agile work environment.
  • Project Management.
