Contechs has appointed a new Head of AI and Digital Transformation, reflecting the pace at which the Group is expanding its technology and AI capability globally.
Ahmed Abdelhedi is a highly experienced AI and cybersecurity specialist, with a track record spanning cloud and AI transformation programmes for tier-1 government and enterprise clients, end-to-end cloud migration for large-scale regulated environments, and the design and deployment of agentic AI systems integrated with real-world business operations. His expertise extends across AI solutions architecture, data governance, and cloud security, giving him a rare combination of technical depth and delivery experience at enterprise scale. He also sits on the BSI ART/1 AI Standards Committee, giving him a close working understanding of how AI governance and standards are evolving.
“Automotive engineering is entering one of the most significant technology shifts I've seen, and there are few places better positioned to apply AI at real scale than an organisation with Contechs’ design and engineering heritage,” says Ahmed Abdelhedi, Head of AI and Digital Transformation at Contechs. “I look forward to putting that strategy into practice, embedding AI into our processes in a way that adds real value across everything we deliver.”
Ahmed’s appointment marks a step change in how Contechs applies AI across the business, sharpening our own engineering workflows while giving clients access to increasingly powerful tools and processes. This includes leading the development of a Contechs proprietary agentic framework and internal processes powered by advanced AI algorithms, as well as learning and development initiatives for safe and ethical use of AI.
It’s a move that also supports our expansion into manufacturing robotics, vehicle connectivity and cybersecurity, three of the fastest-moving frontiers in automotive technology, where AI is rapidly becoming central to what's possible.
“This appointment is a real statement of intent,” says Pete Jarvis, Group CEO at Contechs. “We're building the capability to be more than an engineering consultancy, we're becoming a genuine technology partner to our clients, and Ahmed's experience will accelerate our journey in that space.”
For our clients, the value is clear: faster development cycles, more efficient engineering processes, and access to robust, validated AI capability.
This strategic appointment will accelerate our global AI roadmap and builds on the same foundational proprietary process IP that underpins everything we deliver, developed over more than two decades of vehicle programme delivery. As Contechs continues to grow its global footprint, embedding AI capability into that process IP is central to improving efficiency and compressing development timelines for our clients, wherever in the world they're working with us.
